SBRN receives Reeve Foundation Grant for our Adult Empowerment Retreat

The Spina Bifida Resource Network (SBRN) is proud to announce that it has been awarded $6,900 as part of the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation National Paralysis Resource Center (PRC) High Impact Priority Quality of Life Grants and Direct Effect grants cycles.

SBRN will use the grant in support of its Empowerment Retreat for adults with disabilities, which will be held September 20-22 at the Crowne Plaza Edison. The Retreat is a unique, peer-led, fun and interactive three-day conference designed to increase independence, socialization, self-esteem and overall growth of individuals with disabilities through the exploration of health and wellness, relationships and intimacy, disability justice and other important topics.  The funds will be used for workshop leaders, supplies, scholarships for attendees, and additional costs of the retreat.

“SBRN is very honored to receive this award for our weekend-long retreat.  These funds will allow us to expand our options and offer scholarships to those who otherwise could not afford to attend. Thank you to the Reeve Foundation for their support in empowering individuals living with paralysis to live their best lives,” said Roberta Kestenbaum, Executive Director of the Spina Bifida Resource Network.
