SBRN receives Reeve Foundation Grant for our Adult Empowerment Retreat
SBRN is proud to announce that we have been awarded a $6,900 Quality of Life Grant from the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation. Funds will be used to support our annual Empowerment Retreat for adults over 21 with disabilities, which will be held September 20 – 22 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Edison NJ.
The Adult Empowerment Retreat is a weekend-long event with workshops on a variety of topics related to living with disabilities, movement and art-related activities, as well as social opportunities throughout the weekend. The focus is on increasing independence, socialization, self-esteem and overall growth. Come for the weekend or just a day or two!
In the words of one repeat retreater: “SBRN’s retreat is a unique opportunity to explore radically different topics in a cross-disability, inter-generational group on a local level, which is really transformative.”
