It’s our 40th Anniversary!
Through the years, we’ve adapted both in name and mission to meet the current needs of our community. Today, we embrace our newly revised mission to provide educational resources, social events and advocacy programs that empower people with disabilities and their allies to challenge perceptions, embrace interdependence and live their best lives.
With your generosity, we continue to empower people with spina bifida and other disabilities by offering support services, financial assistance, resources, connections and friendships through our programs and events. We provide valued services such as:
- our new program “Health Conversations with Nurse Barbara” which provides opportunities to discuss healthcare issues and options with our experienced RN.
- our Special Medical Needs Fund and the SBRN Community Fund which provide thousands of dollars in financial assistance to families with excessive costs.
- our Virtual Groups including our “Afternoon Chats” and our renewed “Empowered Conversations: Virtual Speaker Series” – unique programs that are coordinated and led by people with disabilities to provide resources, tools, camaraderie and community building. We’ve also begun a “Men’s Chat” virtual support group for men with disabilities to complement our “Golden Girls” group.
- our educational and informative resources about living with disabilities, as well as current information on COVID-19.
Your gift will help people address healthcare and mental health concerns, and will ease the financial burden for those with high medical costs and other critical needs.
Please join us by giving whatever you can today. You can make these programs happen and ensure that the SBRN is here for people living with disabilities, now and in the future.
With your support, people with disabilities will have access to resources and opportunities to optimize their wellness and realize their unlimited potential!
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
