Through the years, we’ve adapted our mission and programs to meet the current needs of our community. We embrace our mission to provide educational resources, social events and advocacy programs that empower people with disabilities and their allies to challenge perceptions, embrace interdependence and live their best lives.
With your generosity, we continue to empower people with spina bifida and other disabilities through our valued services such as:
- our “Health Conversations with Nurse Barbara” program which provides opportunities to discuss healthcare issues and options with our experienced RN.
- our SBRN Community Fund which provides financial assistance to families with excessive costs.
- our Virtual Groups including our “Monday Afternoon Chats” and our “Empowered Conversations: Virtual Speaker Series” – unique programs that are coordinated and led by people with disabilities to provide resources, tools, camaraderie and community building. We also offer peer-led virtual support groups – our “Men’s Chat” and “Golden Girls”– as well as our fun “Crafty Corner” and “Get Fit with SBRN.”
